Must-See NYFW Runway Looks and Top Trends of Fall 2016

We’re well on the way to new trends at London Fashion Week, but it’s worthwhile to recap what happened in New York. I’m pretty solid on the velvet thing. Like, I think we all got the memo: Velvet is going to be a huge deal come next fall. I almost glazed over other key trends I was so distracted by all the velvet.

So, what else? Pink. There are plenty of pink hues on the runway. Bright pops of hot pink showed up even in the midst of most demure collections. Elongated sleeves were up next. Gloves not required with hands safely tucked away in cold weather. Even better, if those sleeves are on a hoodie-dress. Sportswear inspiration and straight up streetwear is big. And to glam things up, especially in the evening, are metallic, almost liquid-like texture, pieces.

I’m beyond excited for everything with the exception of the elongated sleeves. I can see that getting annoying. Knowing me, I’ll probably change my mind about this halfway into the year.
