[dropcap]F[/dropcap]YI, I love little helpful hints as they relate to the household. I don’t want to make you read about how to best scrub your pots, but I thought I’d include a lifehack once in a while in the midst of all the usual style tips.
My resolution to learn a bit more every week needs to extend into actually doing these things regularly, I’ll report back next week on how the coffee mug revitalization came along and how my slip dresses are faring outside! Although, what I REALLY want to report on is this temporary lip plumping thing. Because, lips. You guys, Mrs. Jolie-Pitt is my icon. I’ve been crushing on her since I was 13. It’s that serious.
Do you remember when Lip Venom came out, and it was a big deal? That was my first foray into reaching out to a company and asking them for samples to try the product out because I wanted to get a Jolie pout. I was severely disappointed when my lips stung for a few minutes, turned bright red, and then, underwhelmingly, stayed the same size. This saline thing might be the closest I come to Jolie-ing myself. Josh, my dear husband, if you’re reading this, NO, of course I didn’t get the saline injections…..
“Coffee mug looking a little dingy? Squeeze in half a lemon, let sit for five minutes, then add an ice cube and a spoonful of table salt. Swish around until the stain is gone.” (Technique from Kelly Snyder of redefinedmom.com via AllYou Magazine)[/columnize]
Overdid the perfume? Rub on some unscented body lotion where you spritzed all that yummy, but way too strong, fragrance. It’ll diffuse the scent! (Tip via AllYou Magazine // Photography via touchdigital.co.uk)[/columnize]
Want to try out bigger lips without the commitment of trout mouth? You can do a saline treatment for a 24-48hour amp up of your pout! Prices are significantly less than a long-term injection and hover around $100. (Info via Flare Magazine, photo by Mario Testino for Vanity Fair)[/columnize]
Bored of your winter wardrobe already? An easy way to spice it up is by incorporating high shine chokers into your wardrobe. From edgy, industrial looking ones to feminine draped chokers with rhinestones, they keep things visually captivating. (Advice via InStyle, Photo via WeWhatWear) [/columnize]
How To Pull Off Boudoir Pieces Like Slip Dresses: 1. Substitute pieces based on function (i.e. pajama top in place of a blouse). 2. Balance flowy items out with more structured pieces. 3. Keep accessories and hair sleek for evening looks. (Advice by Cindy Weber Cleary via InStyle. Photo from Interview Magazine via FashionGoneRogue.) [/columnize]
