We’re still in the midst of a cruel winter front, but summer’s on my mind. While we can’t shimmy off in dresses and skirts sans tights just yet (unless you’re one of the lucky ones who lives in Hawaii or the deep south), we can prep our repertoire of things to try as soon as the winter chill gives way to temperatures in the 70s.
One of the tricks? Vaseline. More generically speaking, petroleum jelly. It certainly serves a purpose in the winter in protecting our delicate skin, but it doesn’t have to be stored in the back of the medicine cabinet just because higher temperatures are on the front. A good way to incorporate it into warmer weather routine is by rubbing a dab of it on the shins/legs to give them a nice sheen. Paired with a fake tan, it’ll give the illusion of a toned summer body. Start the bare leg season off right.
Extra nugget: Mix in a tiny bit of gold or silver powder shadow when rubbing the petroleum jelly into legs for an extra shiny kick.
